Faster than a Ferrari
Austin Rover made this claim as part of the marketing campaign for the MG Maestro Turbo in 1989. The MG Maestro Turbo could reach 0-60mph in 6.7 seconds whereas the entry level Ferrari Mondial only had a 0-60mph time of 7 seconds.
Austin Rover had teamed up with the skilled engineering team at Tickford to produce the fastest MG model available at the time with handling and looks to match. Launched at the Birmingham International Motorshow in October 1988, the car received an enthusiastic response.
This site is dedicated to the MG Maestro Turbo, which incorporates the well known MG Maestro Turbo Register which is committed to keeping track of these limited edition cars.
